About an hour into his hike, Luke first noticed a sound behind him. It was a soft rustle in the brush, keeping pace with his own footsteps.

He stopped walking, and the rustling stopped too, almost immediately, which was odd. Luke turned around slowly, scanning the trees, but the forest behind him was completely still.
