Closing the distance
It was clear that whatever this animal wanted, it would not let him walk away. And things only escalated from there.

After about a mile into his return walk, the Bobcat had closed the distance between them by nearly ten whole feet. It was no longer hiding in the brush but walking openly along the trail behind him.
