The captain guided the boat carefully toward the calm water near the beach. He dropped anchor a short distance offshore, in the shallow, clear shallows. The dolphin circled the boat once, chirping, as if thanking them at last. Then it raced back toward the beach, waiting for the passengers to come ashore.
