Marcus already had his phone out, dialing the emergency line with steady fingers. “Yes, we’ve caught a man who’s been stalking my friend all week,” he told the operator. “We have him locked in a room at the animal shelter on the edge of town. Please send someone quickly.” Then they settled in to wait.
