Nathan drove home with his mind racing. The stalker worked at the shelter. He had hidden Bill in a locked back room, and was furious when the dog was adopted by accident. This was no random obsession. The man had wanted to keep Bill hidden on purpose, and apparently now he wanted Bill back at any cost.
