Careful steps
Under Marcus’s watchful guidance, the man rose and coaxed his enormous dog toward the front of the bus. The animal moved slowly, its nails clicking on the rubber floor, pressing close to its owner’s leg. Marcus opened the doors, and together they stepped down onto the quiet concrete of the depot, looking carefully around them.
