Hannah’s father guided the boat carefully through the shallows, hovering just beyond the shoreline. “Get in, everyone,” he called out to the waiting group standing on the morning sand. The group waded through the shallow water toward the waiting boat. Getting aboard themselves was easy, but Bella was another matter entirely.
