A keeper placed slices of mango and banana near the feeding hatch, well away from where Bruno sat. Normally these treats would send him hurrying over instantly. Rosa watched closely, hoping he would take the bait. The plan depended entirely on whether Bruno’s appetite could outweigh his attachment to the tiny puppy.
