An Official Apology
When the presentation finally ended, one of the senior officials stood. He looked genuinely disturbed by everything he had seen. He apologized to Margaret personally. He admitted that the situation should have been investigated long ago. The failure to recognize it sooner weighed heavily on everyone present.
