A closer look
Mark set his coffee cup down slowly on the porch railing and stepped carefully across the wooden boards. The strange animal had not noticed him yet. Its backend was sticking out of a rose bush, and it was sniffing at something within the undergrowth. Mark held his breath, not wanting to scare it.
