Heading home
The Silver Heron turned around and began the long journey back downriver, this time with the little meerkat resting safely in a padded carrier on the deck. Mara radioed ahead to the wildlife sanctuary, letting them know they would be arriving with a rescued animal that needed special care and gentle treatment.
