Color change
After another twenty minutes of slow travel, Helen noticed that the water was changing color. It had a brownish tint creeping in along the edges of the river, like sediment had been stirred up somewhere upstream. She pointed it out to Mara, who narrowed her eyes and studied the surface very carefully.
