The crocodile maintained the same steady pace ahead, never rushing and never disappearing. Every minute or so, it would slow down and turn its head slightly, almost like it was confirming that the boat was still behind it. The meerkat on its back stayed perfectly balanced, never slipping despite the gentle ripples.
