About twenty minutes later, Doyle’s phone rang loudly with a return call from the responding police officer at the lot. The officer’s voice sounded slightly puzzled over the line. “Sir, we have searched the entire property thoroughly twice now. There is absolutely nobody here at all. Are you sure about this?”
