A hard choice
The decision to ground their own ship on the reef was painful to make. It meant the vessel might be damaged beyond repair, and they might all face prosecution for their actions. But the alternative was unthinkable to them. They couldn’t live with themselves if they let those people drown in the cold ocean waters.
