Daniel replied with only a gesture, moving his hands downwards in the familiar signal for ‘calm down.’ One of the suited men from the black vehicle made direct eye contact with Daniel, understanding the sign. He walked over quickly and stopped right in front of Daniel and the elderly veteran.
