Slowing down time

They moved through long, carpeted hallways lined with framed paintings of sunflowers and oceans. Residents sat in cozy common rooms, some reading, some dozing. Paul glanced nervously into the rooms they passed, half expecting Evelyn to leap out. But Claire led them deeper into the building, where the hallways grew quieter, and where time seemed to slow for some reason.
