A forgotten place

They turned off the main road into a tree-lined lane that seemed forgotten. Houses grew sparse, weeds sprouting from cracks in the asphalt.

When they reached the street for the appointed house, only a couple of homes stood on each side. Otherwise, the neighborhood looked almost completely abandoned.
