It was just after 7 a.m. when the first radio calls came into the Coast Guard’s station. Several fishermen, all miles apart, reported seeing the same odd thing. A giant blue tarp, unnaturally square, floating out past the shipping lanes. No one could tell what it covered, only that it seemed out of place.
