The sonar screen displayed the chain in a continuous line, no gaps appearing. Luke leaned close, studying it. “Longest stretch of metal I’ve ever seen,” he muttered.

Edwin nodded silently, eyes fixed on the glowing display. Each mile carried them further into the unknown, the mystery tightening around them. No matter how far they traveled, nothing hinted at an end, but both knew it couldn’t last.
