Then came the secretary. Her eyes didn’t meet his. “Mr. Harrow wants to see you,” she said, flatly. No smile. No warmth. Bill’s stomach tightened. Principle Harrow never called on him before. The halls he loved suddenly felt different. Something was wrong. He walked toward the office, each step a bit heavier than the last.
