The principal leaned forward, his eyes like steel. “If you don’t sign, security will drag you out. You can sign them outside—while lying on the curb.” Bill froze. He wasn’t a fighter. He hated conflict. But the threat was real, and the hallway was already filling with the sound of approaching footsteps.
